Anahata Somatic Therapy

Healing through compassion, connection, and embodied awareness

❋ Seattle, WA | On the traditional and ancestral lands of the Duwamish people past and present ❋

Anāhata is the heart center — associated with compassion, love, and forgiveness.

In Sanskrit, anāhata ( ah-NAH-hah-tah | अनाहत ) means “unstruck” or “unhurt,” referring to a deeper truth that arises from the heart and is often felt more than it can be expressed in words. It is often described as the balancing center of the chakra system, bridging inner experience with the ways we connect and relate to others.

Associated with the element of air, Anāhata reflects breath, movement, and spaciousness — qualities that invite softness, openness, and expansion. It is often associated with love, empathy, compassion, generosity, and vulnerability, and is considered a seat of deep emotion within the body. In many traditions, the heart center is seen as a place of growth, healing, and renewal, supporting forgiveness and the capacity for deeper, more meaningful relationships.

This is the philosophy behind Anahata Somatic Therapy.

In our work together, I support you in navigating communication challenges, intimacy concerns, trauma, and sexual shame while building emotional awareness, self-trust, and more connected ways of relating to yourself and others. Along the way, we may explore patterns in attachment, desire, identity, and relationships, while building tools that support connection, boundaries, and repair.

Healing is not just an individual journey—it is a collective, embodied process shaped by our histories, identities, relationships, and lived experiences

✼ ✼ ✼

I work with individuals and people in relationships to reclaim their lives and rewrite their narratives by cultivating safety, curiosity, agency, and autonomy. Through self-discovery and increased awareness of embodied and relational ways of being, clients learn to listen to the body alongside the mind while building more intentional, connected ways to love and live.

I specialize in working with queer, trans, and nontraditional relationships navigating identity, intimacy, and connection.

I believe our bodies hold the stories our minds learn to silence, carrying both the impact of trauma and the innate wisdom needed for insight and change. This work honors both—reconnecting you with a sense of resilience, agency, and wholeness, while inviting a deeper relationship with yourself, others, and the world around you.

I am deeply committed to offering inclusive, affirming care for people of all backgrounds through healing grounded in authenticity and presence. Therapy with me offers a nourishing space to slow down, soften, and show up as you are—without expectations or pressure. It is an invitation to be held and met with care, grace, and compassion.

Services

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a space to explore your inner world with curiosity and care. Together we look at the patterns, experiences, and protective strategies that shape how you move through life, while learning ways to regulate emotions through the body and deepen awareness of thoughts, feelings, and needs. This work supports greater self-trust, clarity, and the ability to make choices that feel more aligned with who you are.

Relationship Therapy

Relationship therapy focuses on understanding the dynamics between partners and how each person’s needs, histories, and communication styles shape the relationship. Together we explore patterns of connection and disconnection, strengthen communication, and learn ways to navigate conflict, repair ruptures, and express needs more clearly. This work supports deeper understanding, trust, and more intentional ways of relating.

My Approach

  • Sex therapy is a space to explore intimacy, desire, identity, and relationship dynamics in a way that feels open, affirming, and non-judgmental. It’s a talk-based process where we can gently unpack patterns, beliefs, and experiences that may be impacting your connection to yourself or others.

This work might include exploring communication, pleasure, boundaries, sexual concerns, or the impact of past experiences. It moves at your pace and centers your autonomy, helping you build a more authentic and connected relationship with your body, your sexuality, and your relationships.

  • Art therapy uses creative expression as a way to explore thoughts, emotions, and experiences that may be difficult to put into words. You don’t need to be an artist—this is not about skill or making something “good,” but about allowing your inner world to take shape in a different way.

Through drawing, painting, collage, or other forms of creativity, we can access deeper layers of experience, build insight, and process emotions in a more embodied and intuitive way. Art can open pathways to understanding, release, and connection that go beyond traditional talk therapy.

  • Somatic therapy focuses on the connection between your body and your emotional experiences. Instead of only talking about what’s happening, we also pay attention to how it’s felt—through sensations, breath, tension, movement, and nervous system responses.

Our bodies hold both our experiences and our capacity to heal. By slowing down and building awareness of what’s happening internally, somatic work can support regulation, deepen understanding, and create more choice in how you respond to stress, relationships, and your environment.

This approach helps you reconnect with your body in a way that feels safer, more grounded, and more attuned.
